Carnival's youth program staff is trained to help younger cruisers meet future friends while having an age-appropriate, supervised blast in Carnival Magic's multiple youth spaces. Activities, special teen-only shore excursions, movie nights and more round out the experience that they won't soon forget. Feet is full of treadmills, stationary bikes, stairmasters, rowing and hydraulic weight machines, and of course free weights. Lido
The first new venue was an overnight success from its first sailing. Located on deck 5, the RedFrog has both indoor and outdoor seating for 120 guests. Its theme is a mixture of the Caribbean and Key West, with palm trees and decor straight out of a beach bar. Although the inaugural sailing was in the Mediterranean, this laid-back cruise ship definitely has a Caribbean feel. The RedFrog serves Caribbean-themed pub snacks such as coconut shrimp, chicken wings, Bahamian conch salad, and fried grouper fingers.

There is a two-level casual eatery called The Lido Marketplace, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Culinary choices include Italian and Tex-Mex to tandoori and Asian specialties. A pasta bar will offer guests their choice of pasta, sauce and ingredients to create a custom-made dish of traditional Italian favorites such as Portobello ravioli or pasta carbonara.
Premium Vista Balcony
Carnival Magic was launched in 2011, but even a decade later, this ship still has its, well, magic. A member of Carnival’s Dream class, Carnival Magic has served cruising passengers all over the Mediterranean and Caribbean. The lifeboat configuration of Carnival Magic differs from that of her sister ship, Carnival Dream, in that Carnival Magic has 18 double-size lifeboats, while Carnival Dream has 30 smaller boats. Carnival Magic also has a large, highly visible SkyCourse ropes course forward of her funnel that is not present on her sister. And then there’s BlueIguana Cantina™ where you can enjoy delicious and fresh Mexican fare, and have fun building your tacos or burritos from a wide range of tasty ingredients.
Oceanview (6M)
Ocean Plaza is the new indoor/outdoor cafe/entertainment venue on the Promenade deck that will showcase various styles of music as well as art, photo and spa seminars, scrapbooking classes, magicians, jugglers, trivia contests and more. An acrobatic troupe called Fun Force will entertain guests in Ocean Plaza and at various venues around the ship. Several new accommodation categories, including five-berth, two-bathroom staterooms especially for families, will be offered. There is also a new style of balcony cabin called the Cove Balcony located on surprisingly lower decks, below the promenade decks. These balconies are shadier than the higher ones as they are built into the hull of the ship.

Within the ship you’ll find ample opportunities to watch dazzling shows, take part in fun game shows, try your luck at the casino, and much more. Keeping with the times, Carnival Magic features the delicious good times of Guy's Burger Joint™, BlueIguana Cantina™, Alchemy Bar® and RedFrog Rum Bar®. Now, it doesn't even crack the list of the 50 biggest cruise vessels. Other than these two ships, Carnival's biggest vessel is the 4,090-passenger Carnival Venezia, which measures just 135,225 tons. That's about 40% smaller than the biggest ships operated by Royal Caribbean. Located along Promenade Deck will be Wasabi, a sushi bar serving complimentary sushi, as well as sake.
Sunshine class
The ships have relatively fewer amenities and venues than the newer and bigger Carnival ships. You won't find giant water parks on these vessels as you would on newer Carnival ships. You will find multiple slides and a spray park for the kids, though. That said, the two remaining Fantasy-class ships have undergone renovations over the years to add more balcony cabins. Depending on the ship, there were between 98 and 150 new balconies added, including new suites. Spirit-class ships also have one of the most unique features in all of the cruising industry — special date-night restaurants that are incorporated into their funnels and feature translucent glass-dome ceilings.
Deluxe Ocean View (Obstructed View)
The ships also have upscale steak houses that require reservations and have a cover charge. Carnival Magic and Carnival Breeze have added an Italian specialty restaurant that requires reservations for dinner, when there is a cover charge, but is complimentary at lunch. Carnival Breeze also has an Asian restaurant with à la carte pricing. Carnival Magic cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 1845 staterooms for 3690 passengers (max capacity is 4724) served by 1367 crew-staff. The boat has 14 passenger decks (9 with cabins), 22 lounges, and bars, 3 swimming pools (one with a retractable roof), 8 outdoor Jacuzzis (2 of which cantilevered), 18 elevators. Cabin decks have a total of 54 Suites, 851 Balconies, 221 Oceanviews, 719 Inside cabins, Self Service Laundromats (passenger use launderettes).

In general, Carnival's biggest and most amenity-packed ships are its newest ships. If you're looking for a cruise experience with the most possible onboard activities and venues, you'll want to steer toward the vessels in Carnival's new Excel class and its relatively young Vista and Dream classes. Previously exclusive to Carnival Magic but now added to Dream and also to be included on Carnival Breeze is the new Ocean Plaza, a spectacular indoor/outdoor cafe and entertainment venue designed for guests to relax and people watch. An expanded 24-hour room service menu will include new choices such as Medium Rare Roast Beef and Brie on French Baguette and Grilled Fresh Mozzarella and Portobello Mushroom on Focaccia. Room service orders are delivered to guests’ staterooms any time of the day or night at no charge.
Within SportSquare is SkyCourse, which was also a first when it debuted on the ship. The cruise ship’s ropes course is popular with adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers, as it takes you through some difficult ropes challenges high above the ship’s deck and the water. Another pool sits on the opposite side of the ship, and is preferred by families and children.
It will be familiar to anyone who knows Carnival ships because the design of Costa's Concordia class was based upon the design of Carnival's Conquest class, and the two classes are very similar. Both the Vista-class and Venezia-class ships were built on the same basic design platform and are roughly the same size with similar layouts. But Carnival Venezia originally was built for Carnival's Italy-based sister brand, Costa Cruises.
These are all supervised by the friendly and fun-loving counselors who make sure teens have the best vacation ever. Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. After all, if you’re going to jog, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to do it with a more scenic view, or a more refreshing breeze — both of these are available in abundance when you go for an open-air jog on the upper-deck.
